PINK KRASNA HORA 2020 DESCRIPTION

As the name suggests, Krasna Hora's 'Pink' is a rosé wine, made in the Czech wine-growing region of Moravia from only Pinot Noir grapes. It is a bottle with a persuasive and refreshing spirit, the child of a production philosophy that embraces organic and biodynamic farming principles. At the helm of Krasna Hora is Marek Vybiral, who, together with his family, tends 14 hectares of vineyards focusing production on Pinot Noir, processed in various styles. The Czech term "krasna hora", the winery's name, translates to "beautiful mountain."

Czech Krasna Hora 'Pink' rosé wine is 100% Pinot Noir raised on loess-rich soils in accordance with the dictates of organic and biodynamic farming. Harvesting is done manually and the grapes are then transferred to the winery where they undergo light whole cluster pressing. Subsequently, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place for 20 percent of the mass in 500-liter oak barrels of several passages while the rest ferments in stainless steel tanks. Maturation takes place in the same types of containers for a few months on the fine lees. The wine is finally bottled with a screw cap without undergoing any clarification or filtration.

The 'Pink' Pinot Noir Rosé Krasna Hora has a pale pink hue. The olfactory panorama is fragrant and lively, with bright perceptions of red fruits and pink grapefruit that combine with hints of violets and berries. Fresh, luscious and clean on the palate, endowed with excellent smoothness and a marked savory streak. The finish of good persistence carries red fruit sensations that are consistent with the nose. An ideal Pinot Noir rosé as an aperitif to accompany assorted cheeses, or to pair with various seafood appetizers.
