Franchina and Giarone's Rosso Frizzante "Ienide" was born in Castelvetro di Modena on the beautiful hills of Emilia Romagna. The project behind this winery is by Luca Pizzetti, who began his winemaking project in 2020, producing wines that were the utmost expression of their territory of origin and able to enhance its intrinsic characteristics. The working philosophy involves minimal human intervention in the vineyard, with no use of herbicides, pesticides or chemical rooms that could alter the ecosystem surrounding the vineyards. The label features a stylized design representing the meaning of the wine's name.
The vineyards of the grapes in Franchina and Giarone's Lambrusco Grasparossa "Ienide" are located on very compact soils mainly composed of clay, making cultivation difficult, but thanks to human intervention, it has become possible and lush. The climate is typical of the Po Valley, with hot, sultry and humid summers and harsh winters with sporadic snowfall and frost. The grapes are harvested by hand and in the cellar spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts in steel; it re-ferments in the bottle according to the dictates of the Ancestrale Method, giving the wine a fine bubble.
The color of Franchina and Giarone's Rosso Frizzante "Ienide" is pale ruby red with a fine, inviting froth. The nose releases aromas of redcurrant, strawberry, balsamic and mint notes; on the palate there is subtle tannin and a freshness to the sip that charms glass after glass. Perfect to be paired with traditional Emilian cold cuts, light appetizers and pasta dishes dressed with important sauces; also interesting with aged cheeses. Excellent to be consumed throughout a meal to share a product with authentic and genuine flavors on winter evenings in front of the fireplace in the company of a good book.
