The fresh and floral aromas blend with pleasant mineral nuances that return to the palate with pronounced savoriness and richness, inviting you to take another sip. An ideal wine to accompany springtime aperitifs among friends and dinners featuring fresh fish!
The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'Palombare' represents a label with a strong territorial identity, produced from the grapes of a single vineyard located in contrada Palombare in Sasso di Serra San Quirico, in the western part of the denomination. The high altitudes of the area and the proximity to the Apennine mountain range create a microclimate that is generally cooler with more significant temperature variations compared to the rest of the Castelli di Jesi territory. This is the basis for the brilliant freshness and rich aromatic heritage of this Verdicchio, strongly linked to the characteristics of its specific cru.
Campanelli Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'Palombare' is a 100% Verdicchio from grapes grown according to the principles of organic farming in the Palombare vineyard, with plantings dating back to 1955 and 1991. Here, the altitudes range between 330 and 370 meters above sea level, and the soil is of medium texture, characterized by the presence of clay, limestone, and sandy intercalations. Once they reach maturity, the clusters are hand-picked into crates and subjected to a brief refrigeration before soft pressing.During maturation, the grapes are hand-picked into crates and subjected to a brief refrigeration before soft pressing. Only the free-run must obtained is left to undergo cold static decantation and is then started on alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature. The mass matures for 7 months in cement and steel tanks on the lees, with frequent batonnage, followed by at least 2 months of further aging in the bottle.
The Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Verdicchio ‘Palombare’ by Campanelli has a bright straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose unfolds with floral and herbal notes, enhanced by mineral hints and aromas of lemon and almond. On the palate, it is taut, fresh, and dynamic, characterized by a pleasant sapidity.
