The Agnanum winery can easily be identified as part of the Italian so-called “heroic viticulture”, a solid and small family whose heart beats fast for wine despite the very difficult working conditions. Located in Campania, on the top of the historical volcanic hills of the Parco Naturale degli Astroni green oasis, the company boasts of four brave hectares that are placed along a black sandy soil and seats on steep and narrow terraces. The terroir is unique and half vines are Piedirosso and half vines are Falaghina, ancient and native plants, whose grapes' taste is distinguishable. The work of Raffaele Moccia, a hard work that is carried out by the force of arms, the skill of the masters and the passion of the heart, is devoted to his terroir. A love for wine that has been inherited from his father Gennaro, who had started building the vineyard in 1960. Today Raffaele has seized another acre to the bitter land, alongside the historic vineyard, which is in part two centuries old. The yield remains low and the harvest is late: they are conditions that are complemented by a “low intervention” choice and that characterize the numbered bottles, magnificent rare, ruby, jewels...wines that hold a throbbing energy, the same of their producers.
"Vorrei farvi immergere nella mia storia che racconta di una terra baciata dal mare, scaldata dal sole e da sempre vocata ad una viticoltura eroica, svolta sugli ardui terrazzamenti posti sulle storiche colline vulcaniche del Parco Naturale degli Astroni, dove il duro lavoro manuale, la bassa resa per ettaro e la vendemmia tardiva, producono questo vino"
