Albinea Canali

Albinea Canali is a historic Emilia winery, always committed to producing wines with an authentic territorial face and enhancing Lambrusco, a true iconic grape variety of the region. Its origins date back to 1934, when to counteract market difficulties, Lorenzo Motti and Riziero Camellini created a small cooperative with some producers of Lambrusco and Ancellotta. The project quickly proved successful, and soon many other winemakers joined, and in 1936 the Albinea Canali winery was officially born, which soon became an important reference point for all viticulture in the hilly area north of Reggio Emilia.

In the early decades of its activity, the Albinea Canali winery grew significantly, reaching one hundred seventy conferitori and establishing itself as one of the main players in the territory for the sale of quality bulk wine. Today the winery is experiencing a second life and, following market developments, has directed production towards the sale of quality labels. Its richness is based on a particularly precious vineyard park, located in the beautiful pre-Apennine area just a few kilometers from Reggio Emilia. Thanks to beautiful sunny exposures, a mild and breezy climate, and gravelly soils, very draining and particularly suitable for viticulture, Lambrusco expresses itself at excellent qualitative levels.

Lambrusco represents the tradition and history of the territory, the most authentic expression of these generous lands. It is an ancient grape variety, already known in Roman times and most likely derived from the domestication of wild vines. If once the image of Lambrusco was linked only to the idea of a popular and easy-drinking wine, today it is presented on the market with carefully crafted versions that highlight its best expressive qualities. In recent decades, Lambrusco has managed to embark on a path of excellence, offering versions appreciated by enthusiasts and connoisseurs and confirming its extraordinary gastronomic aptitude to accompany many dishesof traditional Emilia cuisine.
