Attanasio
The Attanasio winery is a small reality that has managed to establish itself in the wine scene of Manduria through a virtuous and artisanal approach, giving rise to important and robust interpretations of Primitivo according to a intense, authentic, and territorial style, adhering to the oldest traditions of the Mandurian terroir. Alongside the charismatic figure of the winemaker Giuseppe Attanasio, today the activity is managed by his son Luca, assisted by his brother Alessandro, in an atmosphere driven by passion and the desire to make the wine excellence of their land known to the world.
The vineyards of the Attanasio family extend just over 7 hectares on the clayey soils of the Manduria area, composed of red and black earth. The vines cultivated in the Apulian bush training system are between 40 and 60 years old and guarantee healthy, intense, and high-quality fruits in every harvest. Vineyard work is kept to a minimum to safeguard the environmental balance, and treatments with copper and sulfur are the only pesticides used. In the winery's vinifications are conducted in the wake of tradition, with medium-long macerations and a touch of modernity represented by the barriques, used for long aging that, in the case of reserves, can reach up to 36 months.
The Attanasio wines are robust and austere expressions of the Apulian tradition. The aromatic concentration, high alcohol content, and slight residual sugar that characterize the most intense Primitivo wines contribute wonderfully to impart thickness and depth to the tasting without making it heavy. The drinking experience is always balanced, harmonious, and elegant, as well as rich and articulated, capable of fully satisfying lovers of that full, warm, and generous intensity typical of the great reds of southern Italy, destined to last over time and evolve positively in the bottle for decades.
