Bodega Schatz
Bodega Schatz is a Spanish winery located near the ancient town of Ronda, in the heart of the Andalusia region. Its founder, Friedrich Schatz, comes from a family of German winemakers and his desire was to continue producing wine but not in his homeland. Thus began the search for an ideal place, which was found in this wonderful territory of southern Spain, particularly in the Finca Sanguijuela estate, situated right in the homonymous Sierra. The area enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and hot, dry summers, refreshed only by sea breezes that rise inland from the coast, which is only about twenty kilometers away.
The area boasts ancient origins in vine cultivation, dating back to the first commercial outposts established by the Phoenicians along the Spanish coasts, between the 2nd and 1st centuries BC. Later, the Romans expanded viticulture with the founding of the city of Acinipo, which is located just a few kilometers from Ronda.green manure, with sowing in the inter-row of legumes. The management of the plants with short pruning and low yields allows for the production of grapes of excellent quality, which are vinified with care and attention to preserve the varietal characteristics of the grape varieties intact.
