Boscarelli
The production focus of the Boscarelli winery can only be the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which alone represents 80% of the total production, declined in the “vintage” and Riserva versions, as well as the cru of the individual vineyards ‘Il Nocio’ and ‘Sotto Casa’. These are typical and characterful expressions, a faithful reflection of the Poliziana tradition.
primarily dedicated to the main variety of the territory: Prugnolo Gentile, a local clone of Sangiovese Grosso. This is accompanied by small percentages of other traditional grape varieties such as Colorino, Canaiolo, Mammolo, Trebbiano Toscano, and Malvasia, but also by international grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The rows rest on alluvial soils rich in sand and gravel and benefit from the Mediterranean and breezy climate of the area. In the winery, the approach is fundamentally linked to tradition, while not disregarding the contribution of modern technologies. In this perspective, fermentations are mainly carried out in truncated conical wooden vats with prolonged macerations, while aging mostly takes place in tonneau or large oak barrels.
