Bosio
Specialized in the production of Franciacorta of great class and complexity, the Bosio winery is a family-run reality that bases its production philosophy on environmental sustainability and stylistic precision. At the helm of the estate, located in Corte Franca, near Lake Iseo, are Cesare and Laura Bosio, siblings who proudly combine quality and innovation in service of a high-ranking production, honoring their ancient Franciacorta origins. The winery was founded in 1998 and quickly became a reference point among the sparkling wine producers in the northern Franciacorta region, thanks to the modern vision of the two siblings.
The vineyard area owned by the Bosio sparkling wine house is spread over 22 hectares, all within the Franciacorta DOCG production zone. The varietal platform is centered on Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, noble grape varieties that are the basis for the finest sparkling wines in the world, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Barbera, grapes used in the production of red wines. The vines benefit from the moraine origin of the soils and a microclimate very suitable for quality viticulture, influenced by the proximity to Lake Iseo, which mitigates the cold currents coming from Valcamonica. This microclimate allows for optimal ripening of the grapes, further favored by the low yields per hectare that Bosio consistently seeks. In the winery, fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and for the aging of the base sparkling wine, either steel or oak can still be used. The sparkling process is carried out in the bottle according to the Classic Method, with very long aging on the lees before disgorgement and final dosage.
The Franciacorta wines from the Bosio winery stand out for their structure and breadth, qualities attributable to Pinot Nero, the base of the cuvée most prestigious. These characteristics give Bosio's sparkling wines a finely gastronomic character that invites enjoyment in the choice of food-wine pairing.
