Broken Bones
Broken Bones is a young and interesting Slovenian distillery, located near Ljubljana. It was created by three friends passionate about spirits, driven by the desire to turn their common passion into a business initiative. The curious name was born by chance in 2016. During the initial phase of the project, two of the partners, Borut and Boštjan, fractured themselves, one the leg and the other the nasal septum. The two accidents, which occurred just as the first barrels of distillates were being filled, seemed like omens not to be overlooked, so much so that they transformed them into the name of the company. In just a few years, the distillery has managed to shine and win the favor of enthusiasts and connoisseurs from all over the world.
At the heart of Broken Bones is the goal of producing craft Gin and Whisky of excellent quality, characterized by intense, rich, complex aromas and an elegant, smooth, and refined taste profile, capable of satisfying the most demanding palates. The distillates are born from recipes traditional, revisited with a touch of creativity and nuances that recall the scents of the Slovenian land. The Gins, for example, are made with a careful selection of wild botanicals collected in the splendid unspoiled territory of the Karst. As for the Whiskies, the territorial character is conferred by the aging process in Slovenian oak barrels, which impart particularly delicate aromas.
The entire distillation process takes place within the company premises, in order to have absolute and direct control. The products are made in small batches and crafted with artisanal attention by expert Master Distillers, who meticulously supervise every phase of the processing. The distillates mature in warehouses located just outside Ljubljana, under the best temperature and humidity conditions, to ensure a perfect aromatic evolution. Thus, a range of fine London Dry Gins based on linden flowers, rose hips, coriander, cardamom, angelica, licorice, iris, lemon zest, and other characteristic botanicals of the Slovenian Karst region. The Whisky is a classic Single Malt produced with high-quality barley and light, crystal-clear water from the purest springs of the territory.
