Ca' dei Quattro Archi

Ca’ dei Quattro Archi is a small family-run business that produces authentic and expressive wines, uncompromising, that reflect the ancient traditions and the spirit of the territory of Romagna. The winery was founded by Rita Golinelli and Mauro Mazza in 1999, when they decided to leave their respective professions to dedicate themselves to taking over the vineyards owned by Rita's father, located on the first hills surrounding Imola. It is known, after all, that wine offers an irresistible allure for some people, who seize the opportunity to dedicate themselves to viticulture to give a new beginning to their lives.

From the very beginning, Rita and Mauro opted for a radical choice, that of working in harmony with the dictates of organic regulations, getting certified by ICEA, the reference association at the national level. The wines are interpreted with a craft approach and very traditional, giving rise to full and identity-rich sips, which do not chase market logics, but only the awareness of the terroir from which they originate, fully consistent with the vision of Rita and Mauro.

The Ca’ dei Quattro Archi winery has an area of about 5.5 hectares of vineyards, divided into two different parcels. The first runs near the company headquarters and has a subsoil mainly composed of sand, while the second surrounds the area of Casalfiumanese, bordering the Rio Mescola, where the soil is clayey and rich in limestone. Among the rows, the typical varieties of the area are cultivated, such as Albana, Malvasia, Trebbiano Romagnolo and Sangiovese, and only recently two international red grape varieties, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, have been added. The operations in the vineyard follow principles of organic farming, without the use of synthetic products nor invasive interventions in the winery, where fermentations occur spontaneously, without temperature control and without filtration.

Ca’ dei Quattro Archi annually produces very identity-rich and expressive labels, which are becoming known throughout the national territory and which, in Romagna, have become reference points. The “Mezzelune”, for example, has become the "paradigm of a new way of understanding Albana, played on an intense, full-bodied, and artisanal style. Two reds based on Sangiovese, the “Tajavént” and the “Borgo di Nola”, express an authentic profile and embody Rita and Mauro's love for tradition. Truth and honesty blend together in light of ethical practices that respect nature with its rightful vital cycles.
