Ca' Liptra

Ca' Liptra is a young winery in the Castelli di Jesi area, strongly tied to the territory, combining ancient peasant traditions with experimentation to produce wines that are never predictable. It is located in Cupramontana, historical homeland of Verdicchio, and is managed by 4 partners, already active in the wine world, each with their own story and experience, who in 2012 decided to join forces to take on a new challenge. Giovanni, Agostino, and Roberto, trained enologists, handle the vineyard management and the work in the winery. Antonella is responsible for the administrative part. The name of the winery is a play on words: the calyptra in botany is a thin cap that protects the inflorescence until flowering occurs. The name Ca' Liptra is a combination of Ca' (which means 'house') and the initials of the 4 partners.

The vineyard of Ca' Liptra extends over 3.5 hectares in open countryside and is managed under non-certified organic practices. The different parcels are located in San Michele, at about 300 meters above sea level. The planted varieties are Verdicchio, Trebbiano, Montepulciano, and Sangiovese. The vines have an average age of about 40 years and come from a mass selection. The soils are clayey with calcareous-sandy areas, the cover crop is spontaneous, and for green manure, favino is used. The climate, favored by the proximity of the Apennines on one side and the Adriatic Sea on the other, gives Ca' Liptra wines a pronounced and intense aromaticity.

After the harvest, which is carried out strictly by hand, the grapes follow different destinies depending on the grape variety of origin. As in the vineyard, in the winery, interventions are kept to a minimum, in order to preserve the intrinsic characteristics of the grapes. The goal of Ca' Liptra winery is to produce wines that are a genuine expression of the Marche territory. With every sip, one can perceive the love and dedication put into the processing, the bond with the land, the everyday life, and the simplicity.
