Cantine dell'Angelo

Cantine dell’Angelo is a winery owned by the Muto family that produces artisanally Greco di Tufo, an authentic expression of the Irpinia territory. Founded in 1970, today the business is in the hands of Angelo, who belongs to the third generation.

The 5 hectares of vineyard at Cantine dell’Angelo are planted exclusively with Greco di Tufo and are divided into a plot in the area called Campanaro, which overlooks the ancient sulfur mines of Polveriera, and one with century-old vines in the historic vineyard Torrefavale. The mineral-rich soils and sulfur emissions give the wine particular organoleptic characteristics. Angelo has chosen a low environmental impact viticulture, fully respecting nature and the health of the soil: in fact, no herbicides are used. Vineyard activities are carried out exclusively by hand, as is the selection of the bunches. The grapes, once brought to the winery, undergo a soft pressing and fermentation on indigenous yeasts at low temperatures, in order to preserve the integrity of the aromas. The wine thus obtained, without clarifications, is left to mature naturally in steel containers, until a product of the highest quality and unique characteristics is achieved.

Cantine dell'Angelo produces fine wines, endowed with a 'intense minerality, freshness, and softness. The Greco di Tufo from this winery is a pure snapshot of the Irpinia territory, rich in simple and genuine aromas and flavors.
