Casaretti
The Casaretti Winery is located in the first inland area of the Veronese shore of Lake Garda, between Bardolino and Lazise, right in the heart of the Bardolino Classico production area. It is a family-run business that was established in the early 1900s, which has managed to maintain a handcrafted approach, aiming to offer typical local products, made with the indigenous grapes of the Region. Today, the helm of the company is in the hands of Lorenzo, who learned the trade from his father Agostino and who applies the teachings and experience of generations, striving to create wines that can directly express the characteristics of the territory, the freshness and fragrance that have always distinguished the wines of Bardolino.
The territory of the Bardolino area is characterized by the presence of glacial moraine hills, rich in pebbles, characterized by poor and draining soils, perfect for quality viticulture. The climate is particularly warm and sunny, influenced by the large basin of Lake Garda, which helps to mitigate temperatures. In these conditions, the grapes reach full and perfect ripeness with rich and elegant aromatic profiles. The particular pedoclimatic conditions of the Bardolino area have made it one of the most vocated areas in Veneto for centuries to produce fragrant and smooth wines, characterized by immediate drinkability.
In the estate of the Casaretti winery, the indigenous grape varieties of the territory are cultivated. As for the reds, they are the same varieties as those of Valpolicella, which, however, express themselves in this area with more delicate tones, more subtle profiles, and a characteristic sapid vein, typical of the mineral-rich moraine soils. Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara produce agile, light, and less concentrated wines that primarily express the pleasant fragrance of red berries. It is no coincidence that it is one of the areas of our peninsula most suited to producing rosés of great finesse. As for the whites, the choice of grape varieties has favored Garganega, the queen grape of the nearby Soave territory, and Cortese, a Piedmontese grape variety that has been present for centuries in the nearby Custoza area.
