Castagner
The Castagner Distillery is an important production reality for quality grappa in Veneto. Founded in 1998 in Visnà di Vazzola by master distiller Roberto Castagner, it quickly established itself as a point of reference for distillation, thanks especially to the perfect blend of modern technology and ancient traditions. Today, Roberto's activity is supported by that of his nephew Carlo and his daughters Giulia and Silvia, together creating a model of efficiency, development, and quality that has set a standard not only in Veneto but throughout Italy.
Thanks to the innovative GrappaSystem, patented by Roberto Castagner, the pomace is kept fresh in a controlled atmosphere in long food-grade plastic tunnels for several months. A technological system called “Buccia Pura” allows for the separation of seeds and stems from the grape skins, ensuring perfect raw materials. Distillation takes place in modern 25-meter high distillation towers, from which flows a clear and crystalline grappa of high quality. Thanks to the “K-selective” system, developed by Roberto Castagner, it is possible to extract and select only the best aromatic substances by utilizing, through copper columns and steam, the different evaporative coefficients. The aging takes place in a spacious and evocative barrel room that contains over 1,600 barrels of oak and cherry.
Castagner is the distillery that, perhaps more than any other, has been able to enhance the concept of modern grappa, adopting innovative technologies, developed and perfected in-house, always in service of tradition and quality. The secret of success also lies in the choice of top-quality raw materials, mostly sourced from Veneto but not exclusively, and in the creation of innovative products, such as those from the Le Torbe line, capable of anticipating and responding to the desires of great lovers of spirits.
