Champagne Réaut
Alain Réaut is a Récolltant Manipulant from Courteron, a small village in the Aube area, in the far south of Champagne, where with respect for nature and its cycles he produces sparkling wines with a sincere soul. He is supported by his wife Thérèse and son Alexandre, in a close-knit family setting that aims to enhance this subregion champenoise while always protecting the ecosystem. Alain founded the Domaine with the support of two other producers from the area: Jean-Pierre Fleury and Eric Schreiber, pioneers of the biodynamic movement in Champagne. In fact, until that moment, after starting to take care of his father's vineyards, Alain was dedicated to selling grapes to the local cooperative. It was the meeting with the two winemakers that pushed him to want to create a personal and identity-driven Champagne according to a genuine production philosophy based on love for the land, allowing absolute freedom of expression to the terroir. In 1992 he decided to convert the estate by excluding the use of synthetic chemical substances and embracing the principles of biodynamic agriculture.
The vigneron Alain Réaut cultivates Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Blanc with artisanal care, following the principles of certified organic and biodynamic agriculture. To always seek the utmost balance in his cuvées while enhancing the character of the individual lieu-dits, the vinifications are always parcelled. Both stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels are used as wine containers and, of course, the refermentations take place in the bottle according to the Metodo Champenoise, with long aging on the lees before the degorgement.
The Champagnes of Alain Réaut are characterized by sublime authenticity and pleasantness, with a constant presence of fragrant mineral descriptors and dried fruit. Labels with a precise and centered style that honestly reflect the territorial attributes of the Aube and the oenological philosophy of their creator.
