Cianfagna
Cianfagna is a winery located on the beautiful hills of Molise that produces quality wines and contributes to enhancing the territory and family tradition. It was founded in 1999 by Vincenzo Cianfagna, but it has been since 1860 that the family has cultivated the lands of the agricultural estate for the production of cereals and oil.
The 4 hectares of Cianfagna's vineyard are planted with a south-facing exposure at about 500 meters above sea level in the municipality of Acquaviva Collecroce, in the inland of Molise, just 30 km from the sea. The location of the vineyards was chosen to ensure an ideal pedoclimate for vine cultivation. The varieties grown are mainly Tintilia and Aglianico. The selected area is characterized by clayey soils and good temperature excursions. The vines are cultivated with meticulous care: no irrigation systems are used and yields are kept low to obtain grapes with maximum intensity and aromatic concentration. Bud selection, thinning of green clusters, and leaf thinning are performed before harvest: these procedures promote an excellent ripening of the grapes. There are few treatments with sulfur and copper, also because, being the area well-ventilated, there are no particular humidity problems and therefore no fungi. All this attention to the vineyard is the result of a family culture and education of respect and love for the land, but it also derives from Vincenzo's training, specialized in agronomy, which leads him to personally take care of the vineyards.
The production philosophy of Cianfagna winery aims to obtain healthy grapes, fermentable with traditional techniques, with minimal human intervention and with an extremely low use of sulfites, below the limit allowed in organic farming. Cianfagna winery has undoubtedly managed to give a precise imprint to its wines: healthy, genuine, territorial.
