In an area of potentially the most beautiful and at the same time disfigured by speculation, the practice of agriculture is no longer just a job, but also a mission; Giuseppe Fortunato made his passion for wine and for these lands a philosophy of his winery Contrada Salandra, one of the most beautiful reality in Campania. «You have to create positive role models and create a system to change things», says Giuseppe, with a look that goes beyond the wine; that's why in addition to cultivating his beautiful vineyards, with the Agricultural Institute of Pozzuoli has decided to provide their work to train young people that in the future will be able to work in the vineyard, just like him. The 4.5 acres of his cellar are located in several parcels of land mainly igneous. The constant attention to the area and the desire to experiment led Giuseppe to create a nursery with varieties that have disappeared, which recovers Ricciulella plants, grapes Cavalla, Marsigliese, Colagiovanna and Coda di Cavalla: all present with some strain here and there scattered among the vineyards. In the area of Contrada Salandra, in addition, biodiversity is the key word: the bees alive and this year the vines are at the center of the new label created by Giuseppe. The wines, thanks to the dedication of Giuseppe and the perfect microclimate of the area, have the advantage of always being qualitatively consistent with themselves, while expressing vintage and territoriality. This reality of Giuseppe Fortunato, always engaged in his beautiful organic vineyard, is a real testament of the quality that the wines can be expected if the grapes are processed by an artisan wine which Giuseppe.
"Un'oasi di biodiversità dove convivono apicoltura e viticoltura: la filosofia di integrazione sinergica tra uomo e natura, si rispecchia in vini di grande identità territoriale"
