Corte San Benedetto
Corte San Benedetto is a young winery with a family-run management based in Arbizzano di Negrar in the ancient rural courtyard of the early 1800s from which it takes its name. It was founded in 2006 by brothers Angelo and Loris Lavarini, with the help of their father Mariano, driven by the desire to carry on the business started in 1956 by their grandfather Angelo.
The vineyard extends over 18 hectares on a clayey and calcareous soil at an altitude ranging from 100 to 400 meters and is the result of years of hard work, passion for the territory, and family tradition. From the few vines initially present, over time the estate was significantly expanded by adding many other vines from different locations in Valpolicella. An experimental cherry cultivation field was then created, where diseases of the cherry tree were studied. For years, the winery represented a true research center.
the vines are on average 40 years old and the cultivated varieties are those typical autochthonous to Valpolicella: corvina, corvinon, rondinella, and molinara. The training system used is the trellis system for the San Dionigi vineyard and the veronese pergola for all others. The most recent vineyards are those near the Castle of Montorio in Verona, where the guyot training system is used, and the one in Cengia.Corte San Benedetto is a young winery with a family-run management based in Arbizzano di Negrar in the ancient rural courtyard of the early 1800s from which it takes its name.
