Costa Archi

The story of Costa Archi is intertwined with that of Gabriele Succi, now considered one of the most talented winemakers in Romagna, who, in just a few years, has made the family farm and the vineyards planted by his grandfather Gian Battista Costa on the lands of his wife Gabriella Archi a reference point for the region's wine culture, promoting a return to simplicity and ancient traditions. The area is that of the locality Serra, in Castel Bolognese: a hilly landscape crossed by the Via Emilia.

The vineyards of Costa Archi extend over 13 hectares on lands composed of evolved red clays and yellow clays rich in limestone deposits. Here, the Sangiovese is the main grape variety, cultivated by Gabriele in 9 different clones, but there are also Albana, Ancellotta, Bianchino Faentino, and other international grape varieties like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winemaking process takes place in small vats without temperature control, favoring, when possible, spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts.

Archi wines reflect both the peculiarities of the territory and the artistic flair and personality of Gabriele Succi. They are produced in the simplest and most traditional way possible and express themselves with sincerity and straightforwardness, combining expressive power and elegant agility. The different interpretations of Sangiovese from Romagna demonstrate the strong connection to the territory and nature, showing themselves to be different each year, yet always capable of surprising and making a name for themselves.
