Domaine Astruc - d'A

Domaine Astruc – d’A is a wine-producing reality in the Limoux area, located within the wine region of Languedoc, involved in winemaking for over 160 years. It was Jean Astruc who founded the winery back in 1862 at the foot of the French Pyrenees, while in 2002 Jean-Claude Mas took over the property, bringing his charisma and enthusiasm and entrusting the management of the vineyards to Jacques Astruc, a descendant of the Astruc family. The estate thus became part of Domaine Paul Mas, a reality that includes wineries spread across the territories of Roussillon, Aude, Hérault, and Rhône, with a heritage of over 400 hectares of vineyards in total. All winemaking and aging operations take place within a modern winery at Château Teramas Astruc, at always optimal temperature and humidity values.

At altitudes between 200 and 300 meters above sea level, Domaine Astruc – d’A manages 80 hectares of vineyards, planted with white grape varieties Mauzac, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc, alongside black grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines, located between the production areas of AOP Limoux, AOP Malepère, and IGP Pays d’Oc, are managed according to sustainable viticulture, with part of the vineyards also certified organic. Furthermore, the vines benefit from both the sunny climate, influenced by the nearby Mediterranean Sea and the not-so-distant Atlantic Ocean, as well as the clay-limestone matrix of the soils, which are also rich in gypsum. A combination of stainless steel tanks and French and American oak barrels is used as winemaking containers, while for sparkling wines, refermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, with a minimum of 9 months on the lees.

Domaine Astruc – d’A is the protagonist of expressions played on elements such as balance and freshness, whether it be the fragrant bubbles labeled under the denomination Blanquette de Limoux or the white and red wines obtained from the most famous French varieties.
