Daniel Bouland

The Domaine Daniel Bouland is an interesting reality in Beaujolais, one of the French wine regions that has been growing significantly in quality in recent years. Leaving behind the traditional identification with the famous Beaujolais nouveau wine, the territory is proving capable of producing excellent still wines, both white and red, that have nothing to envy from much more famous and renowned Appellations internationally. The estate is located near Corcelette, in the area between Villié-Morgon and Chiroubles. It is a family domaine, present for more generations and producing wines that faithfully and authentically represent the best traditions of the region.

From an agronomic point of view, the vineyards are cultivated with great attention to environmental respect and since 2012 the estate has been certified organic. The domaine covers a total of 9 hectares, divided into many parcels, which allow the production of wines under the Appellation: Morgon, Chiroubles, and Côte-de-Brouilly. A particular feature of the vineyard of Daniel Bouland is represented by the presence of many old vines over 70 years old, which constitute a precious heritage to preserve and which yield grapes of extraordinary intensity and aromatic concentration. As per the tradition of this area of Beaujolais, the entire domaine is cultivated with Gamay, an ancient red grape variety, generated from a spontaneous cross between Pinot and the ancient variety Gouais Blanc, native to the Balkans, introduced by Emperor Probus during the campaign in Gaul.

Daniel Bouland owns vineyards in one of the most beautiful and vocated areas of Morgon. Thanks to an exceptional terroir and meticulous care of the vineyard, he manages to enhance the characteristics of the place, creating a range of excellent labels that can highlight and showcase the best nuances of the Appellation. The wines of Domaine Daniel Bouland offer immediate taste pleasure, thanks to an expressive harmony born from high-quality grapes and ripe, rich fruit. The attentive vinifications, always very respectful of the raw material, allow to enhance the personality of Gamay, a grape variety too often underestimated and which, instead, is capable of producing great wines.
