Domaine Alliet

Domaine Philippe Alliet is a family-run artisanal company that begins its recent history in 1983, when Philippe and his wife Claude took over his father's estate, aiming to expand the properties and achieve the highest quality from the vineyards. The winery is located in the village of Cravant-les-Côteaux, along the western stretch of the Loire Valley, near the town of Chinon. Over the years, they have passed on their experience and acquired knowledge to their son Pierre, who assists them in the work among the vines throughout the year, sharing the same philosophy of plant management to achieve low yields and concentration of aromas in the fruit.

The soils are significantly distinguished, ranging from a sandy composition with a notable presence of pebbles, to clay and siliceous matrices on alluvial origins. “Coteau de Noiré”, the prestigious cuvée, comes instead from clay soils on a limestone base, from vines over 40 years old. A rare production of white, finally, comes from the tiny parcel of Chenin Blanc, for no more than 2,000 bottles each year. The management of the vineyards follows the rules of organic farming and the harvests are conducted by hand.
