Domaine de la Borde

Domaine de la Borde is a small production reality located in Pupillin, in the French Jura. It is a wine region that stretches east of Burgundy, in the central part of France, which gives rise to interesting products, such as the “Vins Jaunes”, sweet and passito wines made with a particular methodology. The Domaine is masterfully run by Julien Mareschal, a young winemaker who, after various experiences around France, decided to take the big step and start producing on his own. Julien's philosophy is centered on respect for the environment and the surrounding nature, which is why, starting from 2012, the principles of biodynamic agriculture have been followed, ideal for fully highlighting the terroir of origin. Honest and sincere wines are those that come out of the walls of Domaine de la Borde, where ancient traditions hold great importance.

The vineyards of Domaine de la Borde extend over five hectares, and the vines growing within them have an average age of about 30 years. The terroir is characterized by its composition, mainly composed of blue marls, and the vines, which also wind along steep slopes, are located at an altitude of about 400 meters above sea level. The grape varieties cultivated are five: Ploussard, Trousseau, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Savagnin. Among the rows, the approach is rigorously biodynamic, with very few plant protection treatments per year, obviously carried out without any use of synthetic products. In the cellar, the use of sulfur is minimal, and fermentations occur thanks to the use of strictly indigenous yeasts. A philosophy that is nothing short of respectable, from which Julien's great love for the territory shines through, always aimed at creating respectful and forward-thinking labels.

the “Les Ecrins”, the “Terre du Lias” and the “Sous la Roche”. It is also essential to dwell on the Vin Jaune, the true standard-bearer of the Jura territory.
