Domaine Gadais

The Domaine Gadais Père et Fils is a family-owned estate located in Saint-Fiacre, within the territory of the Appellation Muscadet Sèvre et Maine.  It is part of the vast vineyard of the Loire Valley, which stretches across France from west to east, from the Atlantic coast to the center of the country. The Muscadet area falls within the extensive vineyard territory of the Nantes region. This estate has been involved in viticulture in these lands for four generations. After selling grapes to major local producers for a long time, the winery began bottling wine on its own in 1953 and exporting it abroad in 1959. Since 2018, the estate has been managed by Pierre-Henri Gadais, who has given new impetus to the company, revolutionizing the range of wines and offering a series of cuvées that emphasize the expression of single parcels of the estate, which over time have proven to be particularly suited, capable of ensuring superior quality grapes with distinctive personality.

The Domaine Gadais Père et Fils covers a total area of about 50 hectares, located at the confluence of the two rivers that give their name to the Appellation: Sèvre and Maine. The vineyard consists of about a hundred small parcels, selected over time for their quality. Within the estate, there is also a precious heritage of old vines, planted in 1929, which represent an important testimony of past viticulture and a historical memory of the territory and the variety of biotypes. The area is characterized by very suitable soils, predominantly composed of gneiss rocks. The climate is typically oceanic, with rather warm summers and winters mitigated by sea breezes. The mild temperatures allow for the harvest of perfectly ripe grapes with intense aromatic profiles.

in these lands, also thanks to the presence of rocky soils, which give it a particular elegance and finesse. Pierre-Henri Gadais's research based on parcel vinification allows us today to appreciate the different nuances of the terroir, through wines with a fresh and mineral profile.
