Domaine Muller-Koeberle
The Alsatian production reality Domaine Muller-Koeberle is located within the municipality of Saint-Hippolyte, a few kilometers north of Colmar, in a territory of extraordinary enological vocation. The estate was officially founded in 1961 and the current owner David Koeberlé represents the fourth generation of winemakers in the family. David manages the winemaking by combining the consolidated know-how of the family with modern winemaking techniques, aiming to convey the peculiar characteristics of each cultivated plot in the glass, always seeking the highest quality while respecting the ecosystem.
The 27 hectares of vineyards owned by Domaine Muller-Koeberle are distributed over three different plots: Schlossreben, Burgreben, and Langenberg with the Clos des Aubépines. On the first, vines over 40 years old grow, and the soil, rich in silica, consists of clayey marls. Also in Burgreben, the soils are of clayey-marl origin. Finally, within the Clos des Aubépines of Langenberg, a jewel among the
plots, purchased by the Koerberlé family in 1961, feature characteristic brown soils of granitic nature, rich in mica, quartz, and feldspar. In these vineyards, following a sustainable viticultural approach, the grape varieties Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir are cultivated. For vinification and aging, both stainless steel tanks and oak barrels are used, depending on the label in question, and the final marketing occurs exclusively when the wines are ready. The ‘Clos des Aubépines’ line encompasses one of the flagship selections of Domaine Muller-Koeberle, characterized by wines with a vibrant fresh-salty verve. The winery also delights in producing delicious Cremant d’Alsace crafted through the prestigious Methode Champenoise technique.
