Extraomnes
Extraomnes is the name of the brewery founded in 2010 in Marnate, in the province of Varese. The brewery was born from the meeting between the owners of El Mundo s.p.a., a company specialized in the production and processing of coffee, and Luigi d’Amelio, known as Schigi. Luigi, with a solid background in the world of wine and beer, is a renowned brewer and the figure who most represents the world of Extraomnes, where he found himself somewhat by chance. In fact, that meeting that led to the birth of the brewery happened unexpectedly; Luigi recounts that he was holding a tasting course when someone revealed to him that they wanted to open a brewery and asked him for help. After several years of experimentation, the first beer of the house was born, inaugurating the beginning of the Extraomnes story.
Extraomnes translated into Latin means “out everyone”, a formula that Luigi wants to reflect when producing the beers. As one can guess, Luigi is a character a bit outside the box, endowed with a unique intelligence and a character not simple, to whom the title of Brewer of the Year was also awarded in 2013 and today represents one of the most important personalities in the craft beer world. According to Schigi, the contents of the bottles must first please them and only with their approval can it debut on the market. A piece of advice inherited from Mike Murphy, a great American brewer who also worked in Italy.
Extraomnes beers are all bottled in the 33 cl format so that they can be consumed alone and also to be economically accessible to everyone. Among the various styles produced, the common denominator is the great simplicity of drinking. Beers of extreme olfactory and taste cleanliness, refined, complex, and unique, an unmissable step to delve into the crowded world of Italian craft brewing!
