The over 60 hectares of vineyards owned by the Feudo Maccari estate are situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Sicily, the Val di Noto, planted on white limestone or black sandy soils. The vines, cultivated in the warm Mediterranean climate of the island, include the traditional Grillo and especially Nero d’Avola, as well as the international Syrah, a grape that has adapted well to the Sicilian environment.to the Sicilian environment. The vines are surrounded by almond trees, carobs, prickly pears, lemons, palms, and olive trees and are trained according to the principles of organic farming through the bush training system, with vines that exceed 30 years of age. In the winery, the containers used are varied since the fermentations take place in stainless steel tanks, oval-shaped concrete vats, or oak barrels, while for aging, stainless steel tanks and concrete eggs or French oak barrels are always used, depending on the specific label. Regardless of the wine, the enology adopted by the estate aims to support the spontaneity of the process as much as possible, from grape to finished wine.

When tasting the wines of Feudo Maccari, one can sense the sunny and Mediterranean context of the Val di Noto, boldly interpreted by the indigenous Nero d’Avola, from which enveloping and gently spiced red wines are obtained. The quality of the Grillo, both in still and sparkling versions, and the Syrah is also remarkable.
