Gilbert et Christine Felettig

The Domaine Gilbert and Christine Felettig is located in the small village of Chambolle-Musigny, a jewel of the Côte de Nuits, renowned for centuries for its great wines. Its development and worldwide fame are due to ancient ties with the Abbey of Cîteaux and the patient work of enhancing the territory carried out by the monks. Today, the commune of Chambolle-Musigny boasts 24 Climat classified as Premier Cru and two Grand Cru: Musigny and Bonnes-Mares. The estate was founded by a family of winemakers who have been present in these lands for several generations. In 1965, Henry Felettig created the Domaine with two hectares of vines and one hectare of blackcurrant plants, another traditional cultivation of Burgundy. Until 1969, the grapes were delivered to the local cooperative, and only from that date did the first self-bottling begin. In the following decades, the estate progressively expanded with the acquisition of numerous plots throughout the Côte d'Or.

Today, the property covers a total of 13 hectares and produces a wide range of classically styled wines that well represent the great tradition of the a week and are started in a spontaneous manner with indigenous yeasts, gentle punching down and pump-overs, to encourage a gentle and slow extraction. The aging takes place in French oak barrels for a period ranging from 14 to 18 months depending on the characteristics of the wine and the vintage.
