Glendronach is famous for the inimitable "sherry style” of its Single Malts for nearly 200 years. The distillery is located in the Scottish Highlands, close to Forgue by Huntly. Founded in 1826 by James Allardice, it was the second distillery to obtain a license to produce whisky legally after the Excise Act, 1823, the law that allowed producing the noble spirit in Scotland. After several divestitures and acquisitions by various groups, in 2008 Glendronach returned independent, distinguishing in this way in the sacred world of whisky.

Originally, all workers of the distillery, including managers, lived in the adjacent homes. Today these houses are a historical record and a tourist attraction, like the Glen House built in 1771, the beautiful building housing the history of the distillery and works of art, such as the Spanish woman depicted as traveling to Scotland in a barrel of sherry, emblem the centuries-old tradition of Glendronach.

Glendronach owns four copper stills and receives its water from the nearby Dronach Burn. The distillery matures its Single Malts in superior quality casks of sherry; in general, the whole production process, from the germination of barley to the cuts of the distillate tail is made with meticulous care, and above all with the respect of the long time needed to a great whisky. Single Malt Scotch whiskies fruity and unmistakable, not to be missed.
