The passion and love for a family tradition, that had endured for three generations, led Vito Catania to give life in 1996 to one of the most interesting Sicilian winery. The decisive factor in this adventure was the meeting with the winemaker Salvo Foti, who was in the project from the beginning. The decision to devote himself and his winery only to native grape varieties, with the exception of Chardonnay, raising them with the traditional non-irrigated tree system, was followed by a commitment to practice viticulture that respects the environment and that has led the winery to a biological certification. In this way all the wines faithfully reflect the territory from which they come, in the area of Cerasuolo. The philosophy that always moves the steps of this beautiful Sicilian reality is the commitment to be a sort of guardian of its territory, continuing a viticulture that respects the environment and in balance with the ecosystem that surrounds them. The grape varieties, adapted to these lands for centuries, growing sapling non-irrigated and organic farming are essential factors for Gulfi of respect for all that this beautiful land has left them an inheritance.
