Herno Gin Distillery
The Herno Gin Distillery is located in the surroundings of the city of Härnösand, in Sweden, in the area called 'Höga kusten', a UNESCO World Heritage site, famous for its stunning natural beauty that includes islands, lakes, and hills. Taking inspiration from the local landscape, organic farming, and small artisanal traditions, Jon Hillgren founded a small distillery here after a long experience as a bartender in London and years of study, tasting, and passion for gin.
The gins from Herno Distillery are produced exclusively from certified organic botanicals sourced from all over the world. The most commonly used are juniper berries from Hungary, coriander seeds from Bulgaria, hand-peeled lemon zest, Swedish lingonberries, Olmaria from England, black pepper from India, Indonesian cassia, and vanilla from Madagascar. Jon Hillgren's bet is indeed to create great distillates starting from the best quality raw materials from around the world.
The gins from the Herno distillery have achieved great success worldwide and can boast significant records. They are indeed among the most awarded distillates in Europe, essential tools for every bartender. Today, Herno Distillery produces 4 types: a classic London Dry, a full-strength gin, an Old Tom, and a gin aged in juniper wood barrels. These are excellent artisanal gins that are unique and precious, having become a major reference point for all gin lovers.
