Jerzu

Antichi Poderi Jerzu is a beautiful Sardinian reality that produces wines of great territorial typicity, in one of the areas of the island most suited for the cultivation of Cannonau. This ancient red grape variety, known in Spain as Garnacha tinta and in France as Grenache, has found in this area the pedoclimatic conditions to express itself at high qualitative levels. The company is a cooperative founded in 1950 that today brings together 430 member suppliers. The winemakers work with passion and love for their land, keeping alive and passing down the traditions of the past and striving to improve the quality of the grapes and wines year after year. Today Antichi Poderi Jerzu is one of the wineries that best represents the territory, thanks to straightforward wines capable of transparently reflecting the place of origin.

The estate's vineyards are located at an altitude of about 500 meters above sea level, in the municipalities of Jerzu, Ulassai, Osini, Gairo, Cardedu, Tertenia and occupy the sunny slopes that descend from the first ridges of the Gennargentu mountains.gently towards the coastline of the Ogliastra shores. From a climatic point of view, the area enjoys good temperature excursions thanks to the dual influence of the mild sea breezes and the cool mountain winds. The Jerzu area has always remained isolated and has preserved a primordial and wild aspect, typical of an unspoiled nature. The vineyards are surrounded by wooded areas and spontaneous shrubs of the Mediterranean scrub, which contribute to creating a habitat characterized by rich natural biodiversity.

cooperative provides excellent quality grapes, which are vinified with care to produce wines with a classic and traditional profile, far from trends. A loyalty to the territory particularly appreciated by enthusiasts in search of authentic wines.
