Montina

A fantastic stretch of land, nestled between Lake Iseo and the morainic amphitheater of Franciacorta: here, more precisely in Monticelli Brusati, is the Montina winery, a productive reality specialized in the production of Lombard sparkling wines. The origins of this winery are very ancient, and its construction is attributed to Benedetto Montini, ancestor of Pope Paul VI, who, in 1620, began the construction of the central body of what is now the winery, which has taken on a more modern form in recent times, thanks to the commitment of the Bozza brothers, the current owners. Montina is a welcoming reality, open, always ready to embark on new paths to grow and be competitive in an ever-growing market.

The vineyards of Montina extend over an area of about 72 hectares, scattered across 7 different municipalities within the Franciacorta DOCG. The profile of the plots is almost always hilly, and the terroir is characterized by a subsoil with a strong presence of limestone, silt, and clay. In the vineyard, the yield is maintained at around 100 quintals per hectare, and great attention is paid to each individual terroir; this approach has led, since 1992, to an interesting zoning study, capable of precisely defining the climatic, geographical, and morphological characteristics of each plot, maximizing the value of the grape variety-environment cultivation combination. Among the rows, the typical grapes of this area, Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, are cultivated with great care, ensuring respect for the surrounding nature of the vineyards and obtaining grapes saturated with fragrances and aromas.

At each harvest, from the walls of Montina, just under 10 labels are released, all of Metodo Classico, in which the Franciacorta DOCG is dissected, plot by plot, offering products of undeniable quality, that preserve the memories of efforts, sacrifices, projects, and great achievements. Among the various labels that deserve further exploration, the Riserva “Baiana,” the Brut Millesimato, and the Rosé Extra Brut Millesimato are those that, more than others, allow for a precise stylistic vision of the
