Le Cinciole
Small but interesting wine-growing reality of Chianti Classico, Le Cinciole is located in Panzano and has been passionately run by Luca Orsini and his wife Valeria Viganò since 1991. The name of the winery refers to a specific locality, whose toponym of Etruscan-Roman origin seems to derive from the vulgarization of “The lands of Quintius”.
The vineyard of the Le Cinciole winery extends over 10 hectares and is managed under certified organic regime. The vines rise at an altitude between 430 and 470 meters, with southeast and southwest exposure, on soil composed of clay and sandstone. The Orsini couple chose to mainly cultivate Sangiovese for the production of Chianti Classico, but they also wanted to introduce international grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot.
Le Cinciole aims primarily for quality in its production, respecting traditional techniques and minimizing environmental impact. Chemical fertilizers are abolished, while organic amendments and compost generated from the natural fermentation of pruning residues in the vineyard are used.organic and compost generated from the natural fermentation of pruning residues in the vineyard. Chianti is aged in medium-sized oak barrels with the intent of enhancing the characteristics of the grape variety and preserving as much as possible the primary aromas and the pleasantness of a young wine. For the Riserva, the best Sangiovese grapes from the finest vineyards are selected. The aging in this case occurs first in small barrels and then in bottles, in order to achieve the typical complexity of aging wines. The style of the Le Cinciole winery is focused on producing fresh, lean, and balanced wines that also possess great character and personality.
