Li Duni - Badesi
The Li Duni winery is a young and small wine reality located at the gates of Gallura, in the north of Sardinia, with the firm intention of carrying on the local tradition and enhancing the indigenous grape varieties. Founded in 2003 by a group of friends, vineyard owners, it quickly managed to develop its range of highly expressive, elegant, and territorial wines, capable of enchanting and winning over all palates.
The vineyards of Li Duni extend over 20 hectares in the municipality of Badesi, among gentle hills rich in vegetation and the sandy coastline that borders the Gulf of Asinara. The vines benefit from a truly exceptional terroir, in an area of Sardinia where time and land are shaped by the sun and wind. Most of the vines are trained in alberello and guyot on loose and sandy soils. Given the particular soil configuration, it has been possible to continue cultivating on own roots, which allows for minimal intervention for the plant health treatment of plants and therefore respect a low environmental impact. The presence of Mediterranean scrub, proximity to the sea, significant temperature variations, and naturally very low yields give the grapes a unique juiciness and quality. The sandy soil of granitic disintegration and the roots of the vines that dig deep create particularly savory wines with an unmistakable minerality. For the whites, Li Duni exclusively uses Vermentino, while the reds come from a blend of four grapes: Cannonau, Bovale, Monica, and a rare local grape variety called Caricagiola.
The grapes are carefully selected and exclusively hand-picked, then transported to the winery, where through the winemaking processes, rich expressions of aromas and territorial scents are obtained. The result is strong wines with a distinct personality, just like the people who work there. Li Duni passionately and proudly tells the story of the Sardinian territory, creating bottles that taste of the sea.
