Martini Lorenz
Lorenz Martini is a small winery, located in the village of Cornaiano. We are in Alto Adige, not far from Bolzano, within a terroir where wine, whether white, red, or sparkling, has always played an important role. This is indeed a region highly suited for viticulture, where the cultivation of the vine has very ancient origins, dating back to 700 B.C. Within this framework, since 1985 the Martini family has been dedicated daily to the care of their vineyards, and it is Lorenz himself, a winemaker of proven experience, who takes care of the management of the winery. A particular production reality, which focuses entirely on the production of a single label, the Pas Dosé Riserva “Comitissa”, an excellent Metodo Classico, which, among its many qualities, is also extremely versatile from a gastronomic point of view, representing a winning choice both for aperitifs and for a full meal.
The vineyards of the Lorenz Martini winery stretch between the municipalities of Cornaiano, Appiano-Monte and Cologna-San Genesio, and are located at an altitude ranging from 500 to 800 meters above sea level. Here, three varieties of grapes are cultivated, both white and red, namely Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, and Pinot Nero. The vines grow benefiting from a predominantly Mediterranean climate, influenced by cooler currents, which favor an excellent temperature variation, ideal for optimal ripening of the cultivated grapes. Every operation, both in the vineyard and in the winery, is followed by Lorenz with almost obsessive attention, being careful to pay attention to every detail related, above all, to the sparkling wine process, fundamental for creating a label of personality and character.
The Riserva “Comitissa” indeed remains on the lees for 4 years, during which the winery team is very attentive to follow the evolution of the product. As mentioned, the efforts of the Lorenz Martini winery are currently focused on the production of a single bottle, the Pas Dosé Riserva “Comitissa”, Metodo Classico with enveloping flavors and a complex aromatic profile, thanks to the interesting maturation period spent on the lees.
