Felluga Marco
The Marco Felluga winery is a prestigious wine reality of Collio that carries on the tradition of a dynasty of winemakers. It was founded in 1956 by Marco Felluga, who, trained at the enology school in Conegliano, wanted to continue the family business. He is responsible for the path of innovation and the search for qualitative excellence, making his winery a reference point for the entire Friulian territory. Today the winery is skillfully run by his son Roberto.
The vineyard extends over 50 hectares, scattered across the four municipalities of Farra d'Isonzo, San Floriano del Collio, Oslavia, and Cormòns. The mild climate and the sandy and marly soil typical of this area are ideal for vine cultivation. The production of the Marco Felluga winery has always been linked to the territory and, as such, is focused on white wines. In particular, Marco has initiated the project of developing aging whites that can evolve over the years, rediscovering very interesting mineral complexities and ripe fruit. The winery experiments both with international grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon, and with indigenous ones like Friulano and Ribolla Gialla. This is done by selecting some reserves that are released several years after the harvest. The quality expressed by the red wines is no less, obtained from both indigenous grape varieties and international varieties, characterized by great structure and the ability for long aging.
Marco Felluga has also demonstrated the desire to be eco-sustainable in respect of natural principles. The wines of Marco Felluga undergo aging in only steel and possess complex and rich aromas, which beautifully recall the wonderful terroir of Collio.
