Mastro di Baglio

Mastro di Baglio is a recently founded winery, named after the "fortified farmhouse" that is part of the typical architecture found in the Marsala countryside since the late 18th century. There are five "Masters" winemakers who draw their knowledge from the heritage of farming families, with their ancient wisdom, passed down through generations with respect for the times and the laws of nature. This young project originates from a love for the land of Sicily and its unmistakable scents of Mediterranean scrub. The goal is to enhance a land often underestimated, unjustly plagued by a bad reputation and sometimes by the poverty of the countryside, to tell a new face, perhaps more true and certainly more sincere of a territory that has so much to give.

The wines of the Mastro Di Baglio winery stand out for the ecological imprint that Nino, Giacomo, Vincenzo, Vito, and Daniele have managed to give to these lands, in a unique synergy, driven by coherent objectives, with the aim of preserving the health of the land and its fertility. In the vineyard, no chemical herbicides or irrigation are used, and there is an effort to maintain the natural biodiversity of the landscape and the vineyards, in a unique and necessary balance. The fermentation and aging methodologies are almost always traditional and aim to keep the characteristics of the varietal wine lively. The characteristics of the soil and its expressiveness are therefore preserved in every label.

The whites and reds of the Mastro di Baglio winery are conceived in a completely modernized winery, after an initial abandonment that occurred around the 1980s. The return to the land of these five young men is a sign of the deep passion that they place in every label, enhancing the positive notes of Sicily, without disregarding modern technologies, which greatly assist in the production of composite and particularly aromatic labels. The vigor and fertility of this land are more unique than rare characteristics, revealed in a confluence of sensations ranging from the savoriness of the Mediterranean Sea to the scent of aromatic herbs that characterize the Sicilian vegetation. The fragrance and power have always been at home in Marsala, but now more than ever.
