Opera 02 - Ca' Montanari
The winery Opera 02 - Ca' Montanari was established recently, in 2002, among the gentle hills of Levizzano di Castelvetro, in the province of Modena. It is a family-run business, personally managed by the young Mattia, who has contributed over a little more than 15 years to expanding the winery's holdings by acquiring several new plots. From the very beginning, Mattia decided to embark on a clear path, dedicated to organic farming, to create identity and territorial labels. Although Opera 02 - Ca' Montanari is a young reality, the wines produced have been appreciated both locally and nationally as well as abroad, with a constantly growing export share, now reaching 20% of total production, which has a significant outlet in the United States of America.
However, Ca' Montanari goes beyond wine, dedicating itself to the production of a fine balsamic vinegar from Modena and to hospitality, thanks to a magnificent low-impact resort where it is possible to relax while enjoying traditional dishes from the area in the kitchen of restaurant, careful to respect the cycle of the seasons in every dish. This winery is therefore a combination of multiple worlds, in which Mattia moves with the strength and vitality typical of someone who wants to set increasingly ambitious and stimulating goals. The vineyards owned by the winery Opera 02 - Ca' Montanari now extend over 21 hectares of land, nurtured following practices that refer to organic farming. Among the rows, the local grape varieties are the protagonists, primarily Lambrusco, present in the varieties Grasparossa, Salamino, and Malbo Gentile. Small quantities of Fiano, Trebbiano di Modena, and Moscato are also cultivated. The work, both in the vineyard and in the winery, is personally overseen by Mattia and his collaborators, always attentive to dedicating the right care to the smallest details.
Opera 02 - Ca' Montanari produces different labels every year, where Lambrusco stands out as the main type, expressed in several versions. Among the various expressions of the Modenese terroir, the Brut “Operapura”, Sparkling wines with a modern sip, fresh and modern, perfect for being enjoyed on various occasions.
