Pantaleone
Pantaleone is a small but dynamic organic reality from the Marche located a few kilometers from Ascoli Piceno, in the locality of Colonnata Alta. The winery is run by Francesca and Federica Pantaloni, along with their father Nazzareno and the wise work of the oenologist Giuseppe Infriccioli, Francesca's husband. The secret of their success is the harmony among its members, all agreeing to give their best both in the vineyard and in the winemaking processes.
The Pantaleone vineyards, facing Southeast, follow a regime of organic farming and are nestled in a valley between Ascoli and Monte Ascensione, at about 450 meters. Among the cultivated grape varieties are Pecorino, Passerina, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, and Bordeaux. The breezy climate and strong nighttime temperature fluctuations create the perfect microclimate for the vines, which grow here surrounded by oak and walnut woods, bordered at the foot of the valley by a ditch called “Pantaleone,” from which the winery takes its name. The soils are of a clayey-loamy type, with the presence of pure clay clods, perfect for the formation of organic nutrients.nutritional organics.
In the Pantaleone winery fermentation always takes place in steel, with cryomaceration for whites and aging in wood for reds: barriques or 20-hectoliter barrels. The freshness of the whites is remarkable, particularly the Pecorino "Onirocep", broad and intriguing. Balanced wines, a full expression of the environment and territory, which here is truly what could ever be more natural.
