Pertois-Moriset

Champagne Pertois-Moriset is a classic family-owned estate that cultivates vines in the beautiful area of the famous Grand Cru of Mesnil-sur-Oger, in one of the best terroirs of the Côte de Blancs. The Maison was created in the early 1950s by Yves Pertois and Janine Moriset, both from families of vignerons in Champagne. Today, the domaine is managed by Cecile, who represents the third generation of the family and continues to produce Champagne with a classic and traditional face, resulting from vines of exceptional value. The 20 hectares of the property are divided into different parcels. About 13 hectares are located in some of the most prized and famous crus of the Côte de Blanc and another 7 hectares are situated in the area of the Côte de Sézanne.

The vineyards enjoy excellent pedoclimatic conditions. The beautiful bright and sunny exposures are always well-ventilated and ensure perfect ripening, with healthy and aromatically rich clusters. The soils consist of deep banks of gypsum and limestone, draining and capable of retaining precious reserves of water to cope with even the hottest and driest summers, which, with the ongoing climate change, are becoming increasingly frequent even at the higher latitudes of the Champagne region. The Côte de Blancs and Côte de Sézanne areas have always been particularly suitable for the cultivation of Chardonnay. The most famous and widespread white grape variety in Champagne thrives particularly well on the chalky soils, which contribute to producing wines of extraordinary finesse, characterized by a typically savory and mineral profile.

The estate is managed with utmost care. Each parcel is managed individually, so as to harvest only at full ripeness. The entire winemaking process also takes place for each individual vineyard, to highlight the peculiar characteristics of each terroir and to have a wide range of base wines available at the time of creating the cuvées. Very gentle pressing, careful fermentations, and long aging periods on the lees ensure excellent quality. The Champagnes Pertois-Morisetare pure and direct expression of a prestigious terroir and are perfect for lovers of great Chardonnays from Mesnil-sur-Oger.
