The Peter Zemmer winery is a family-run business in South Tyrol that has been producing quality wines for generations, which are closely tied to the oldest traditions of the region. The estate was founded in 1928 near the village of Cortina, in the South Tyrolean Unterland, right on the border between the South Tyrol and Trentino regions. The property covers a total of about 60 hectares, with vineyards located in the most suitable parts of the area. This territory is particularly ideal for the cultivation of international white grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Muller-Thurgau, Pinot Grigio and for red grape varieties such as Pinot Noir and the indigenous Lagrein. A profound knowledge of the soils and microclimate has made it possible to plant each variety in the most suitable place, in order to always produce excellent wines.

The vineyards are the real centre of the business. The care of the vines is carried out with passion and rigour, in order to bring healthy grapes to maturity. At the end of harvesting, the best grapes are processed with the utmost respect for the raw material, to obtain wines that faithfully reflect the varietal aromas. Pressing and vinification are carried out in a delicate manner, trying to have as little impact as possible on the natural processes that transform the must into wine. The subsequent period of ageing on the fine lees allows the wines to develop their structure and aromatic complexity. For the wines produced from the grapes of the company's finest crus, a period of maturation in wood is required in order to make their profile more harmonious and smooth.

The winery's philosophy is geared towards producing a range of wines that represent an expression of the authentic characteristics of the terroir and its best traditions. In fact, the Peter Zemmer winery has always been committed to safeguarding ancient traditions, which are interpreted through modern agronomic and enological knowledge, and applied towards the production of genuine wines. This idea of the winemaker's work is combined with a strong focus on sustainability. In addition to the meticulous care taken in the vineyard, with careful cultivation that respects the natural environment, the winery's entire energy requirements are supplied from renewable sources, using solar panels on the roofs of the estate buildings. This modern approach allows a perfect harmony between nature and human endeavours.
