Domaine Pierre Yves Colin-Morey is located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in one of the most famous areas of Burgundy, home of extraordinary Chardonnays. The winery was founded in 2001 by Pierre Yves Colin and his wife Coroline Morey, after Yves decided to leave the family estate to pursue his own path. The estate is located between Puligny-Montrachet and Santenay, in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune. Chassagne-Montrachet has very ancient origins; it was already inhabited in Gallo-Roman times, and in 886 a trace of it is found among the documents of the Abbey of Saint-Seine. The vineyard area extends between 220 and 340 meters above sea level, on limestone-clay soils, particularly suitable for white grapes.

The domaine covers a total of 13 hectares, divided into several plots. To the 2 hectares derived from the family heritage, prestigious acquisitions have been added over the years, located in the communal territories of Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. 92% of the area is planted with Chardonnay, 5% with Pinot Noir and 3% with Aligoté. The agronomic management of the vineyard is inspired by the principles of respect for the environment, with grassed inter-row plantings, so as to favor the natural fertility of the soil and the biodiversity of the ecosystem. The high planting density and low yields per hectare, allow to harvest few bunches per plant of excellent quality, very rich from an aromatic point of view.

Vinifications are made following simple rules and trying to intervene as little as possible. The white grape varieties are gently pressed in order to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The must is then sent to fermentation, which takes place in 350-liter oak barrels, 30 percent new. The wines mature in wood for a period of 15-20 months, depending on the vintage, and are bottled without filtration. The range of labels from Domaine Pierre Yves Colin-Morey represents a wonderful expression of the terroir, interpreted with style and elegance.
