Podere Casaccia

Podere Casaccia is a biodynamic farm located on the hills of Scandicci, just a few kilometers away from the picturesque city of Florence. An innovative winery with a craft spirit that arises from Roberto Moretti's love for the land, who purchased the estate back in 1999 with the lively and ambitious desire to create a wine "all his own". There are two essential encounters that will help him realize his project; the first with Biodynamic Viticulture, very active in the Tuscan hills, and the second with Lucia Mori, his life and life partner.

The intent of Podere Casaccia to create a wine that is as true and sincere an expression of the territory as possible is supported and validated by the use of sustainable practices in the vineyard and non-invasive methods in the cellar. Manual pruning of each plant, use of biodynamic preparations, spontaneous fermentations with only indigenous yeasts, are all careful actions that Roberto and Lucia carry out personally to forge a deep relationship of knowledge and affection with the land that surrounds them.surrounds. Courageous and noble is also the choice to cultivate only indigenous grape varieties, almost disappeared in the Tuscan hinterland due to their reduced productivity that goes hand in hand with the rapid and voracious entry of international varieties. A burden-honor that has driven them to select the best clones of old vines aged sixty years, cultivated with Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Foglia Tonda, Pugnitello, and Malvasia Nera, re-grafted onto new plantings in order to keep their natural and almost forgotten organoleptic profile alive and vivid.

Podere Casaccia is also known by the name of Sine Felle, an old "ex libris" stamp from the late 1500s, found by chance during renovations in the historical foundations of the winery. A brand that appears on all the labels of the winery and that literally means "without bitterness": a common thread that unites all the wines of Roberto and Lucia, inscribed in the destiny of this winery, even before its actual birth.terroir, of manual care and deep historical roots, to drink and re-drink.
