Poggio di Cicignano
The Poggio di Cicignano winery is located on the hill of the same name, just a few kilometers from the village of Montemurlo, in the province of Prato. Here Michele Sacchetti, with the help of Silvio Nuti, a well-known winemaker from the area, decided to restore the ancient family vineyards to dedicate himself to wine production. Initially, this desire was born as a sort of hobby, a pastime to engage in during free time alongside the breeding of Maremma Abruzzese Shepherd dogs. Over time, however, this play became something more structured, giving rise to a real agricultural business, to which Michele dedicates himself full-time. Since the very beginning, it was decided to create quality labels, respectful of the terroir of origin; for this reason, Poggio di Cicignano presents itself as an organic production reality, which is also inspired by biodynamic farming criteria, to create products that are born in the vineyard and never in the winery.
