Saint Reol

The Maison Saint Reol represents a sparkling wine reality that emphasizes the importance of mutual collaboration among small producers. It was founded in 1962, when 58 daring vignerons realized that, in order not to be overwhelmed in the market by large maisons, it was necessary to adopt the motto "unity is strength". They did this by creating Saint-Reol, a company that today consists of 230 passionate winegrowers and cellar workers, focusing production on the exclusive vinification of Champagne grand cru, aiming for the highest quality. All the sparkling wines produced indeed bear the grand cru title and express with fidelity and elegance the charm of the champenoise terroir.

The Champagnes of Saint Reol are all born in the cellar of Ambonnay, a famous and fortunate village in the champenoise area of the Montagne de Reims classified as grand cru and the birthplace of extraordinary grapes, especially regarding Pinot Noir, which has found here its place of election. Ambonnay is a municipality of the Montagne de Reims that has historically boasted the highest certification since 1895 and includes about 380 hectares of vineyards in full southeast exposure, perfect for grape ripening. The average altitude of the vineyards is 130 meters above sea level, relatively low compared to the rest of the Cotes des Grands Noirs, thus allowing to counter the dreaded spring frosts and ensuring the vignerons a healthy and high-quality harvest.

The elegant bubbles of Saint Reol Champagne are mainly due to the work of Cedric Jacopin, head cellar master and guardian of the maison's secret recipes, who firmly believes that to obtain excellent sparkling wines, it is necessary to start from perfectly healthy, high-quality grapes. The final goal of Saint-Réol's production is to obtain intense and gourmet nectars, but it is a job that requires patience, waiting, and attention to detail: vibrant freshness, smoothness, and aromatic breadth are the results that confirm the savoir faire of this winery, destined to earn a fixed place among the reserves of every enthusiast.
