Sakurao Distillery
Sakurao Distillery is an important Japanese distillery that was founded in Sakurao, directly opposite the famous Miyajima, a site that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage and is located in the heart of the city of Hatsukaichi, in Hiroshima. The tradition of distillation and whisky production in the lands of the Rising Sun has an ancient history, dating back to the 1800s. Today, production is characterized mainly by the excellent Single Malt Sakura and Togouchi, as well as by Blended Whiskies with a very harmonious taste, with a balanced equilibrium between soft fruity and malty notes and delicate and elegant hints of peat, which enrich the bouquet without ever overwhelming it. The whiskies age in two different sites. The Sakurao warehouse is exposed to strong temperature fluctuations caused by the warm sea winds and the cold currents descending from the mountains.stable, favoring a slow maturation. The range of spirits is completed by refined versions of Gin, made with local botanicals.
