Santa Vittoria

The Santa Vittoria distillery in Alba is one of the most virtuous and efficient production facilities of the international group Diageo. In this corner of Piemonte, known for important and prestigious wines, Diageo has managed to combine significant production numbers with typically Italian excellence, and this production site has become one of the most important centers of the well-known international group. Efficiency and quality are the two principles on which a production of about 135 million liters is based, divided between wines, spirits, and soft drinks. Attention to environmental sustainability is a priority; for this reason, there is an increasing use of renewable energy sources, and within the facility, there is a cogeneration plant for electric energy.

The Santa Vittoria Distillery is the cradle of the premium spirits produced by Diageo in Italy. The production is entrusted to master distiller Lorenzo Rosso, around whom a highly skilled team gathers. The international group has invested in him to create made in Italy spirits with an artisanal style to conquer the audience of enthusiasts and connoisseurs.

From this project was born the brand Villa Ascenti: a 100% Italian gin, created with Piedmontese ingredients, including Moscato grapes, fresh mint, thyme, and aromatic herbs, used a few hours after harvesting. For this production, a Frilli copper still from the Seventies has been restored, which requires artisanal small batch processing, that is, small quantities at a time. The continuous availability of raw materials is guaranteed by the agreements that master distiller Lorenzo Rosso has made with local growers and suppliers. Starting from this distillate, the great all-Italian challenge of the Diageo group began: to establish itself as a reference point also for products with an artisanal style and of the highest quality.
