Sartori
Sartori is one of the most famous names in Veneto wine. For over a century, it has been present in the lands of Verona and has significantly contributed to the growth of the region. The winery is located in Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella, the splendid hilly area northwest of the city of Verona. It all began with the initiative of Pietro Sartori, who at the end of the 19th century ran a tavern with wine service. He soon began selling bulk wine in demijohns and bottles, creating a business that complemented the restaurant trade. The need to have more wine available for direct sale led Pietro to purchase the first vineyards in Negrar and transform from a simple merchant into a winemaker and producer.
This was the beginning of a profound change and rapid growth for the company, which produced wine in Valpolicella and sold it in the areas of Brescia, Verona, and the Val d'Adige in Lower Trentino. Today, Sartori owns a vast estate with properties in Valpolicella, Soave, and the Garda, allowing the production of a wide range of labels that represent a highly representative panorama of the territory: Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone Recioto, Soave, Bardolino, Bardolino Chiaretto. The winery produces wines that, while faithful to the region, possess an international style and appeal, capable of satisfying an increasingly wide audience. A significant portion of the production is exported, particularly to markets in Germany and Northern Europe, England, the United States, Russia, and Asia.
In the company's estates, the classic grape varieties of this area of Veneto are cultivated, including Corvina veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella Molinara in Valpolicella and Bardolino, Garganega in Soave, and Trebbiano di Lugana on Garda. The company has also expanded into Friuli Venezia Giulia, with the acquisition of Mont'Albano, a brand from Grave del Friuli that produces organic wines. This new challenge and adventure bring expertise in organic farming to the company, to be used in the future in other estates of the company.
